NTR was established in 1978 by Tom Roche to build Ireland’s first toll bridge. Until 1999, NTR was exclusively a toll road investor and operator, with interests in five Irish toll roads managed under public private partnerships with the Irish State.
NTR began investing in sustainable infrastructure and from 1999 transacted more than €3 billion of sustainable infrastructure investments in wind, solar, bioenergy, water treatment, energy storage and recycling across Europe and North America.
