Steve Cowman - Chief Executive Officer

Steve brings international experience to Stirling Energy Systems having worked in North America, Ireland, Europe and Asia in the Electronics, Electrical Systems and Recycling Industries for the past 25 years.

Prior to joining Stirling Energy Systems, Steve was Chief Executive of Greenstar Ireland, Ireland’s leading Recycling and Bioenergy company. Prior to that, Steve held numerous senior management positions such as, Technical Development Manager with Enterprise Ireland, Operations Manager with General Electric, Engineering & Development Manager with General Electric, Marketing Director with Harris Corporation, Divisional General Manager with Harris Corporation, Senior Vice President of Marketing and New Product Development with General Semiconductor, Vice President and General Manager with Vishay Intertechnology, and President and European Managing Director with Volex Europe.

Steve is a Graduate Engineer with a Masters Degree in Engineering from Sheffield University and a Masters Degree in Management Science from Trinity College Dublin.

Donal Casey - Chief Financial Officer

Donal Casey joined SES in April 2010 as CFO. Prior to joining SES, Donal was with NTR for the last five years, serving as Finance Director of National Toll Roads, before becoming Group Controller of NTR plc in 2007. Prior to joining NTR Donal was Group Financial Controller of Jury’s Doyle Hotel Group for 4 years. Donal has also worked in senior finance and operational roles in the Electronics and FMCG sectors in Ireland and the UK. He is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a BComm from University College Cork.

Walter Kitchen - Vice President Manufacturing

In July 2008 Walter was appointed V.P. Manufacturing, having previously worked as Operations Director with Greenstar since 2004. From 2002 to 2004 he worked as Interim Manager with Volex Europe (Power Cord Division) holding positions of Supply Chain Manager and Sales Manager Europe. Prior to 2004 he gained extensive senior level management experience with US high volume semiconductor manufacturing companies including General Electric (USA), Harris Corp. Walter holds a BSc in Economics.

Derek Lim Soo - Vice President Business Development

Derek Lim Soo joined SES as VP of Business Development in January 2009. Prior, Derek worked for the General Electric Company in numerous senior Sales roles, and held various global positions across GE’s Power Generation business, from Hydro to Gas Turbines to Renewables (Wind, Solar and Bio-fuels). Most recently, Derek held the position of Renewables Sales Leader for Canada and North East USA, responsible for a Sales operating plan in excess of $2.5 Billion, representing the largest sales region in the world for GE Energy. During this time, Derek also served as a Director on the Canadian Wind Energy Association’s Board, and on the Natural Resources’ Canada Wind Technology Road Map Advisory Board. Derek has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and recently completed a joint certification course on Business Strategy for the Energy Industry with GE in collaboration with the Georgia Tech Executive College of Management.

Christina Kenny - Vice President Human Resources & Organizational Establishment

Christina Kenny joined SES from the NTR Group in June 2008. Christina had worked in the NTR Group since 2000 and held a number Senior Management positions across the business, working at both Corporate and Subsidiary levels, including Head of HR for NTR plc. Christina brings over 10 years experience to this vital role having particular expertise in business start-ups and Organization Establishment and strong international experience having worked in Ireland, Europe and North America. Prior to joining the NTR Group, Christina worked for a Telecoms Company in the UK for 3 years as the Business Head of HR. Christina holds a primary degree in Finance and Human Resource Management from the National College of Ireland and a Masters in Business Administration from Dublin City University.

Peter Becker - Vice President Engineering

Peter Becker was appointed Vice President of Engineering for SES in Aug 2009. Peter is an Operational leader with 25+ years of General Management, Engineering, Operations, Lean and Quality experience both in Europe and in the USA.  He brings valuable experience in Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Cross-functional Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering and International plant start-ups and relocations to low cost regions.

Before joining SES, Peter was General Manager of Metaldyne’s Vibration Controls business.  Prior to that, he held various leadership and management positions in General Management, Plant Management, Engineering, quality Assurance and Manufacturing in the United States and Europe with Federal mogul, ITT Automotive and the Schaeffler Group. Peter completed his diploma thesis at Mercedes-Benz in Gaggenau, Germany, and earned his Engineering Degree at the Technical University in Darmstadt, Germany.

Ramon Mendoza, Vice President Parts & Service

Ramon Mendoza joined SES as VP of Parts & Service in January 2010. Ramon brings over 25 years experience in various elements of wind turbine operations and maintenance. Prior to joining SES, Ramon worked for Vestas American Wind Technology for 15 years in numerous senior roles. Most recently, Ramon held the position of Vice President of Technology, Quality and Process Excellence responsible for providing direct product, technical and engineering support to Sales, Projects, Service, North American Customers and Market. Before joining Vestas, Ramon worked for various wind turbine developers and owners leading O&M teams for New World Power, Field Service & Maintenance, Renewable Energy Ventures and Triad American.
