Neil Parkinson - Chief Executive Officer
Neil Parkinson was appointed CEO of Greenstar (Ireland) in June 2008. Before taking up his new role, Neil was CEO of Irish Broadband, NTR’s wireless broadband business, which was merged with Imagine Communications group in May 2008. He has previously held the positions of Chairman, Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer of Esat Group. Esat Group was the leading alternate telecommunication operator to the incumbent in the Republic of Ireland. The Esat Group was acquired by BT Group in 2000 for US$2.4 billion.
Chris Bell - Chief Financial Officer
Chris Bell joined Greenstar in January 2003 as Group Financial Controller and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2008. For his first two years in the company, Chris designed and implemented a group-wide ERP system that is now the core of all operational and reporting processes throughout the organisation.
Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Chris spent a number of years as the Financial Controller and then the General Manager of a sheet-metal manufacturing company and later 5 years as Finance Director of a electronic engineering company Keytech.
Geoff Bailey - MD Waste Processing
Geoff Bailey joined Greenstar in November 1999 and in June 2000 was appointed Financial Controller. This role developed over the years, and up until August 2008 Geoff carried the title of CFO, having been appointed to the Board in 2002. Most recently, Geoff has taken on the role of MD Waste Processing which incorporates all the Materials Recovery Facilities, Materials Trading, Mechanical Biological Treatment, Landfill and Landfill Gas through Greenstar’s subsidiary Bioverda Power Systems.
Geoff previously held roles with Arthur Andersen and a mobile telephony start up operation before taking an FD role with a diversified investment holding company, Equity International.
Jerry Dempsey - MD Commercial Services
As Managing Director of Greenstar’s Commercial Services Division, Jerry Dempsey is responsible for the delivery of recycling led solutions to over 25,000 business premises and 60,000 homes nationwide.
Jerry previously worked with United Drug plc and a range of pharmaceutical multinational companies in various sales and marketing posts, both on a national and international level.
Eamonn Medley - Director of Business Development
Eamonn Medley joined Greenstar in 2004 and heads up the Business Development function. Since joining Greenstar Eamonn has been involved in project work including the development of the country’s largest waste separation process, mixed dry-recyclables lines, mechanical biological treatment capabilities and has led a number of acquisitions.
In his present role, Eamonn has responsibility for new market developments, new technology evaluation, selection and implementation, and engineering project management in the areas of materials recycling, waste separation, mechanical and biological treatment of waste and waste to energy.
Prior to joining Greenstar Eamonn worked as an independent consultant and for a number of major American multinational companies.
Lisa Birthistle - Director of Human Resources
Lisa Birthistle joined Greenstar in 2005 as HR Manager and was appointed Director in March 2008. She has over 13 years experience in Human Resources and has previously worked primarily in the IT and Banking sectors, mainly with Perot Systems, Bank of Ireland and Hewlett Packard.
