NTR Appoints Chief Operating Officer
NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today (Wednesday, 10th February) announced that Michael McNicholas, former Director of ESB Energy International, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO), NTR plc. Mr. McNicholas will take up his new position in April and will be a member of the NTR plc Group Executive.
Mr McNicholas has over 25 years of experience in the Irish and international energy industry and has held senior positions with responsibility for general management, delivery of major capital projects and funding and investing in international energy projects. He was first appointed Executive Director of utility ESB, in July 2002 with responsibility for managing the transition of ESB’s Generation and Customer Retail businesses to ensure they operated successfully in a deregulated market. In 2005, Mr McNicholas was appointed CEO of ESB International where he led the development and investment activities in energy projects, including the provision of a wide range of energy solutions to clients internationally. Subsequently he was given responsibility for ESB’s full Generation and International business activities.
