Worldwide Agreement with Boeing for HCPV Solar System

NTR, the international renewable energy group, today announced that Stirling Energy Systems (SES), in which NTR has a controlling stake, and the Boeing Company have formed a strategic partnership to complete the commercialization and deployment of Boeing’s XR700 high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar power technology. Through a licensing agreement with Boeing, SES has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture and deploy the HCPV technology.

NTR Appoints Chief Operating Officer

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today (Wednesday, 10th February) announced that Michael McNicholas, former Director of ESB Energy International, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO), NTR plc. Mr. McNicholas will take up his new position in April and will be a member of the NTR plc Group Executive.

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announced the official opening of the Maricopa Solar power plant in Phoenix, Arizona. Only four months after breaking ground, NTR’s Tessera Solar and Stirling Energy Systems (SES) showcased the highly anticipated Maricopa Solar power plant today at a special event for key partners, stakeholders and media. Maricopa Solar is the first commercial project for the SunCatcher™ concentrating solar power (CSP) technology designed and manufactured by SES. Joining in the celebration were Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and officials from Salt River Project (SRP), local and state government, the U.S. Department of Energy, Sandia National Laboratories, utility customers and suppliers.

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announced its interim financial results for the half year ended 30th September, 2009. During the first half, NTR continued to invest in and expand the Group’s green energy and resource-sustaining businesses. NTR’s renewable energy businesses continued to develop key infrastructure projects across the Wind and Solar sectors, including the commencement of construction of the 150MW Lost Creek wind farm, in Missouri and the first utility scale solar project using SunCatcher™ concentrating solar thermal technology in Arizona. Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE), in which NTR has a 45% shareholding, also continued to deliver strong results for the two quarters ended 30th September, 2009.

NTR’s Wind Capital Group Secures $240m in Financing for Lost Creek Wind Farm

NTR plc, announces today that its wind energy business,Wind Capital Group, has successfully secured $240m in project debt financing for its 150 MW Lost Creek wind farm in Missouri. With only 20 wind project finance transactions completed in the US to date this year, and project finance loan volumes year to date in the US dropping by over 50% on 2008 , the successful completion of this transaction signifies the quality of the Lost Creek wind farm project.

NTR’s investment in the bio-ethanol sector, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:GPRE) announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2010. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $8.7 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, compared to net income of $0.6 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, for the same period of 2009. Revenues were $453.4 million for the second quarter of 2010 compared to $284.7 million for the same period of 2009.

NTR’s investment in the bio-ethanol sector, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2010. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $15.6 million, or $0.58 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $9.3 million, or $(0.38) per share, for the same period of 2009. Revenues were $426.5 million for the first quarter of 2010, compared to revenues of $221.1 million for the same period in 2009.
NTR’s Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. Reports Fourth Quarter and Year-End 2009 Results

NTR’s bio-ethanol business, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) today announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year ended December 31, 2009. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $23.1 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, compared to a net loss attributable to Green Plains of $1.8 million, or $0.08 per share, for the same period of 2008.

Renewable energy company NTR is to outline to shareholders how and when they will be able to turn their investment in the company into cash. Speaking to The Sunday Business Post, chief executive Jim Barry said shareholders were suffering from the lack of liquidity in the stock.
