Wind Capital Group
Since its foundation in 2005, Wind Capital Group has developed and constructed the only five operational wind farms in the State of Missouri, totalling 312 megawatts (MW). In November 2012, it commissioned a further 201 MW through its Post Rock wind energy facility in Kansas. Today, Wind Capital Group operates 251 MW of wind power and in 2013, Wind Capital Group commenced construction of another 150 MW facility, Osage, in Oklahoma.
In March 2012, NTR announced that it had increased its shareholding in Wind Capital Group from 62% to 97%.
NTR Europe Wind
NTR has identified UK, Ireland and certain European countries as its primary markets for future wind project investments. NTR works in conjunction with outstanding wind development teams to complete and operate long-term high yielding assets. The Company is actively targeting small (<5MW) and medium-scale (up to 40MW) wind projects that are close to construction or are already operational. In 2013, the Company commenced investments in portfolios of 250kw sites in Northern Ireland.
Highview Power Storage
Highview Power Storage is a developer of utility-scale energy storage and power systems which are scalable from a few megawatts to tens of megawatts. Its proprietary process uses cryogenic (liquefied) air or gas as the working fluid and the medium for storing energy. The company operates a pilot demonstrator facility co-hosted by SSE (Scottish & Southern Electricity) which can deliver energy storage and grid balancing services. In 2014, Highview was awarded an GBP£8 million grant by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change in conjunction with Viridian to install and operate a 5 MW/15 MWh energy storage project. NTR has been a key corporate investor in the award-winning company since 2009.
National Toll Roads
National Toll Roads, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTR plc, is a shareholder in the CRG Waterford and CRG Portlaoise toll concessions whose contracts extend to October 2036 and November 2037 respectively.
Celtic Anglian Water
Established in 1998, Celtic Anglian Water (CAW) is the largest private provider of operations and maintenance solutions for water infrastructure in Ireland. CAW operates and maintains the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant for Dublin City Council, which is amongst the largest and most advanced wastewater treatment plants in Europe.
CAW also operates drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities for other towns and cities around the country, including Sligo and Waterford. CAW is a leading provider of water metering, billing, revenue collection and call centre services for its clients.
The 50/50 joint venture combines the in-house technical expertise of Anglian Water Group with NTR’s local knowledge of the Irish market.
