Wind Capital Group’s Tom Carnahan Named Chairman-Elect of the Board of the American Wind Energy Association

Dublin, 24th May 2011: NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announces that Tom Carnahan, founder and Chairman of the Board of NTR’s wind business, Wind Capital Group, has been elected Chairman-Elect of the Board of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), the national trade association of America’s wind industry.
NTR and Wind Capital Group praised the selection of its founder to the top industry post. “The selection of Tom Carnahan to lead AWEA forward is a testament to our company’s growth and to Tom’s strong leadership,” said Ciaran O’Brien, Wind Capital Group’s Chief Executive Officer. “Tom’s election is a great honour for him and for our company.”
Carnahan, who founded Wind Capital Group in 2005 and quickly established the company as one of America’s leading wind energy developers, has emerged as a strong national voice for wind energy. His term as Chairman-Elect of the Board of AWEA begins this month and runs through May 2012, at which point he will assume the position of Chairman of the Board.
