NTR’s Wind Capital Group Signs PPA to Provide 150 MW of Electricity from Oklahoma Project

Dublin, 21st July 2011: NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announces that its wind business, Wind Capital Group, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to provide 150 megawatts of electricity from its Osage County Wind Energy Facility in Oklahoma to Missouri-based Associated Electric Cooperative Inc.
“The signing of this power purchase agreement is a major milestone in the development of the Osage County Wind Energy Facility,” said Ciaran O’Brien, Wind Capital Group Chief Executive Officer. “With over 350 megawatts in power purchase agreements and an aggressive twelve month build schedule, Wind Capital Group is taking another significant step toward being one of the leading wind developers in the United States.”
“This is the fifth project we’ve worked on with Wind Capital. They continue to bring us projects that make economic sense for co-op consumers who expect reliable, affordable electricity,” said Nancy Southworth, Associated Electric Manager of Corporate Communications.
Wind Capital Group will own and operate the Osage County Wind Energy Facility when it comes online in 2012.
