NTR plc Confirms Completion Of US Wind-Energy Transaction

NTR plc (NTR), a leading international developer and operator in renewable energy and sustainable waste management, today (17th June 2008) confirmed, that the recently announced transaction involving Wind Capital Group, a Saint Louis, Missouri developer of wind farms, has been completed. The agreement involves an investment of $150 million by NTR in Wind Capital Group.
Wind Capital Group is currently developing wind farm projects in eight states across the central United States, with a development pipeline of over 2,000 MW, of which the first will be coming on stream by early 2010. On-shore wind is the most cost efficient of all renewable energy sources and is the most scalable, given its resource availability and proven technology. The investment by NTR will provide Wind Capital Group with the ability to become a national player in the U.S. wind energy market.
