Greenstar is Coming To Town

December 19 2007

More Dublin residents are set to enjoy lower waste costs and a green new year with the announcement today (18 December 2007) by Greenstar, Ireland’s leading waste management company, that it will offer household waste and recycling services in North County Dublin on a phased basis from January, in an investment worth €7.5 million over five years.

Competing directly with Fingal County Council, who recently announced an increase in charges via the introduction of a fixed annual waste charge of €110, Greenstar will offer householders a fixed charge of €55. Greenstar will also introduce North Dublin’s first kerbside glass collection, offer 10% lower costs per bin/kgs collected and twice as many free green bin collections as the Council.

Named 2006 Large Recycler of the Year by Repak, Greenstar now operates household waste collection and recycling services in eight counties in Ireland, including launching a service in South County Dublin in August this year, as part of an ongoing nationwide expansion.

Michael Sanfey, Greenstar’s Head of Sales & Marketing, said “We are delighted to bring competition to North County Dublin and offer residents a lower fixed charge, lower costs per lift/kgs and twice as many green bin collections as the Council. We are also going to cheer people’s January blues with the start of North County Dublin’s first kerbside glass collection service, so people don’t have to trudge to the bottle bank with all those Christmas empties!

Greenstar firmly believes that customers should enjoy a competitively priced, hassle free, full service waste collection service that also meets environmental needs and we look forward to rolling out the first phase of our expansion into North County Dublin in the new year.”

North County Dublin householders can avail of Greenstar’s service for a yearly charge of €55 plus €2.80 per lift and €0.175 per kg.  Green bins will be collected twice a month and glass will be collected once a month at a charge of €5 per lift.

Customers have the option of paying the initial annual fee and quarterly invoices by credit card, laser, direct debit, postal order, bank draft or cheque. For further information contact: www.greenstar.ie
