NTR plc Interim Results For Half Year Ended 30th September 2009

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announced its interim financial results for the half year ended 30th September, 2009. During the first half, NTR continued to invest in and expand the Group’s green energy and resource-sustaining businesses. NTR’s renewable energy businesses continued to develop key infrastructure projects across the Wind and Solar sectors, including the commencement of construction of the 150MW Lost Creek wind farm, in Missouri and the first utility scale solar project using SunCatcher™ concentrating solar thermal technology in Arizona. Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE), in which NTR has a 45% shareholding, also continued to deliver strong results for the two quarters ended 30th September, 2009.

NTR’s Green Plains Renewable Energy Announces Third Quarter Financial Results

NTR’s bio-ethanol business, NASDAQ listed Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc., today announced its financial results for the quarter ended 30th September 2009. Green Plains reported revenues of $361.7 million, a 27% increase over the second quarter of 2009, and net income of $5.5 million, or $0.22 per diluted share.
NTR’s Wind Capital Group Secures $240m in Financing for Lost Creek Wind Farm

NTR plc, announces today that its wind energy business,Wind Capital Group, has successfully secured $240m in project debt financing for its 150 MW Lost Creek wind farm in Missouri. With only 20 wind project finance transactions completed in the US to date this year, and project finance loan volumes year to date in the US dropping by over 50% on 2008 , the successful completion of this transaction signifies the quality of the Lost Creek wind farm project.
NTR’s Greenstar to Acquire Veolia Environmental Services’ Irish Commercial Waste Business

NTR’s Greenstar Ireland has today announced its acquisition of the commercial waste and recycling operations of Veolia Environmental Services in Ireland. The sale, which is part of the asset disposal programme announced by parent company Veolia Environnement on 6th March 2009, does not include Veolia’s hazardous waste management business, which will continue to operate as part of its strategic plan in the Irish market.

NTR plc announces today that its roads business, National Toll Roads, as part of the Celtic Roads Group (CRG) consortium, has opened the 33km Waterford city bypass on time and on budget.
NTR’s BioProcessAlgae To Unveil Phase I Algae Project

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, announces today that its algae investment, BioProcessAlgae, LLC, will unveil Phase I of its photobioreactor pilot project on 14th October at Green Plains Renewable Energy’s Shenandoah, Iowa ethanol plant. BioProcessAlgae has completed the installation of Phase I of the multi-phase pilot project and algae production has commenced at the plant.

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, announces today that its recycling-led waste management company, Greenstar UK, has started work on four new contracts to process at least 70,000 tonnes of recyclables annually, a figure that could rise to nearly 120,000 tonnes a year.

Successful Refinancing of €120m Greenstar Ireland Debt Facility Announced at NTR AGM

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, announced at its AGM in Dublin the successful refinancing of a €120m debt facility for its Irish based sustainable waste management business, Greenstar (Ireland). The facility provides Greenstar with the continued financial flexibility to invest in its recycling and waste management facilities and to respond to opportunities arising from the potential consolidation of the Irish waste management market.
