NTR’s GPRE Reports Third Quarter 2010 Financial Results

NTR’s investment in the bio-ethanol sector, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:GPRE) announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2010. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $7.4 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, compared to net income of $5.5 million, or $0.22 per diluted share, for the same period of 2009. Revenues were $496 million for the third quarter of 2010 compared to $362 million for the same period of 2009.
NTR’s Tessera Solar First To Receive State & Federal Government Approval

NTR’s solar business, Tessera Solar, announces today that its Californian based Imperial Valley Solar Project has become the first utility-scale solar power project to be approved by both the state and federal governments, with the issuance today of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Record of Decision. The BLM’s decision follows last week’s California Energy Commission (CEC) project approval.
NTR Sells Roads Assets For €50m

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today announces that its Roads subsidiary, National Toll Roads Limited (NTRL), has reached agreement to sell a number of its Irish road assets for a total consideration of €50m.
Green Plains Renewable Energy to Acquire Global Ethanol, LLC

Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE), of which NTR plc is a shareholder, has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Global Ethanol, LLC. Global owns two operating ethanol plants, which are located in Lakota, Iowa and Riga, Michigan and have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 157 million gallons (“mmgy”). The acquisition will increase Green Plains’ capacity by 31% to approximately 657 mmgy. Once the transaction is closed, Green Plains will market and distribute more than one billion gallons of ethanol production on an annual basis.

Net income attributable to Green Plains was $8.7 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, compared to net income of $0.6 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, for the same period of 2009. Revenues were $453.4 million for the second quarter of 2010 compared to $284.7 million for the same period of 2009.

NTR’s investment in the bio-ethanol sector, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2010. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $15.6 million, or $0.58 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $9.3 million, or $(0.38) per share, for the same period of 2009. Revenues were $426.5 million for the first quarter of 2010, compared to revenues of $221.1 million for the same period in 2009.
Worldwide Agreement with Boeing for HCPV Solar System

NTR, the international renewable energy group, today announced that Stirling Energy Systems (SES), in which NTR has a controlling stake, and the Boeing Company have formed a strategic partnership to complete the commercialization and deployment of Boeing’s XR700 high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar power technology. Through a licensing agreement with Boeing, SES has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture and deploy the HCPV technology.

NTR’s bio-ethanol business, Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) today announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year ended December 31, 2009. Net income attributable to Green Plains was $23.1 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, compared to a net loss attributable to Green Plains of $1.8 million, or $0.08 per share, for the same period of 2008.
NTR Appoints Chief Operating Officer

NTR plc, the international renewable energy group, today (Wednesday, 10th February) announced that Michael McNicholas, former Director of ESB Energy International, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO), NTR plc. Mr. McNicholas will take up his new position in April and will be a member of the NTR plc Group Executive.
