Tom Roche - Chairman

Tom Roche

Tom is a founding Director of NTR plc and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also holds a number of other directorships. He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with an MA (Economics) degree and holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Tom is a member of the advisory board of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Michael McNicholas - Non-Executive Director

Michael McNicholas

Michael was appointed CEO of Bord Gais in May 2013. Prior to that, Michael held the positions of CEO and Chief Operating Officer during his time at NTR plc, providing broad operational leadership across the Group’s businesses. Prior to joining NTR plc in February 2010, Michael was CEO of ESB International, the international investment arm of the Irish energy company. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the Irish and International energy industry where he has held senior positions with responsibility for general management, delivery of major capital projects, funding, international energy project investment, managing regulatory environments and competing in open energy markets. Michael has a Degree in Engineering from University College Galway. He is a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland and a Committee Member of the Energy Institute.

Neil Parkinson - Chief Financial Officer

Neil Parkinson

Neil was appointed Chief Financial Officer of NTR plc in March 2011. Neil has held executive roles with NTR group companies since 2006, first as CEO of Irish Broadband, NTR's wireless broadband business, which was merged with Imagine Communications group in May 2008. Most recently, he was Chief Executive of Greenstar Ireland, where he restructured the business in response to market challenges, as well as acquiring and successfully integrating the Irish non-hazardous waste assets of Veolia. Before joining NTR, Neil held the positions of Chairman, Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer of Esat Group, the leading telecommunications operator that was acquired by BT Group in 2000 for US$2.4 billion. Neil holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Christopher Nash - Non-Executive Director

Christopher Nash

Christopher is Chairman of Gasrec Limited, a Director of Current OpenGrid Limited, Senior Independent Director at Hutchison China Medical Limited and a non-executive director of EVO Electric Limited. Previously Christopher was Chief Executive Officer of Hydrodec Group plc and had held senior positions with Global Crossing Limited, Cable & Wireless plc and North West Water International Limited. Christopher trained as a Civil Engineer and has a Masters of Business Administration from Manchester Business School.

Donal Tierney - Non-Executive Director

Donal Tierney

Donal is currently a Director and Chief Executive of Bimeda Holdings Plc. and Associated Companies. He is also a Director of Oceana Therapeutics and IRDG. Donal has previously held various positions in the Pharmaceutical and Investment Banking sectors. He holds a BA and MBA from University College Dublin.

Michael Walsh - Non-Executive Director

Michael Walsh

Michael is Chief Executive Officer of Woodford Capital Ltd. Previously, he was Group Finance Director of NTR plc for eight years. Prior to joining NTR, Michael was Group Finance Director and Company Secretary of Musgrave Group plc for ten years. He also worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in both Dublin and London. Michael is a non-executive director of Fleming Capital plc and EFMI Global Utilities and Infrastructure Funds plc and is also a member of the Council of the Institute of Directors in Ireland. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982.

Brian Kearney - Non-Executive Director

Brian Kearney

Brian has been Group Chief Executive of Arnotts Holdings Limited, a retail and property investment group. Previously, he was chairman of Lifestyle Sports, a founder and Chairman of the Premier Computer Group and Chief Executive of Powerscreen International plc and CardBase Technologies Ltd. He was a director of IWP International Ltd, McCormick Macnaughton Ltd and Moffett Engineering Ltd. Brian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of its Strategy Review Board. He has represented the Institute on the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants based in New York. Brian also serves on the Professional Standards Committee of the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board.

Alan Walsh - Non-Executive Director

Alan Walsh

Alan Walsh (ACA, AITI) is Group Chief Executive Officer of One51. He joined One51 in 2006 and was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer in 2009. Alan served as Interim Chief Executive from July 2011, before being appointed Group CEO in November 2011. Prior to One51, Alan worked at Matheson Ormsby Prentice and with reinsurance group AXIS Capital. He graduated from University College Dublin in 1998 with a degree in International Commerce, and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.

Caroline Bergin - Group Legal Director & Company Secretary

Caroline Bergin

Caroline Bergin joined NTR plc as Group Legal Director & Company Secretary in July 2010. Prior to taking up this position, Caroline held the same position at Greencore Group, an Irish-headquartered and publicly traded convenience foods company. Caroline began her career practicing law with A&L Goodbody, before joining Greencore in 1991, and was appointed Greencore Group Company Secretary in 2002. A qualified lawyer and highly experienced company secretary, Caroline brings extensive experience, having been Company Secretary to multiple subsidiaries in Ireland, the UK and the US.
